Rental Requirements and FAQ's
If I submit a booking request, does that automatically secure a vehicle?
No. Your vehicle booking request will be confirmed by one of our staffmembers. Until reception of this, the vehicle has not been confirmed. We do this to insure we never overbook and all of our clients have a vehicle upon arrival.
Is there a mileage limit on your rentals?
All rentals include unlimited mileage but vehicle travel is restricted to the maritime provinces only (PEI, NS, NB). Vehicles are not permitted or insured outside these provinces.
What kind of license do I need?
We require an valid license at the time of booking (Valid Canadian Driver's License or Valid USA Driver's License)
- Learner's Permit or G rated license not accepted as primary or secondary driver
To avoid potential delays at the time of pick-up, we advise emailing a copy of your license so your contract can be printed ahead of time.
Do I need to be a certain age to rent a vehicle?
Renters must be at least 25 years or older. For renters between the ages of 21 and 24, a $15 per day and per driver underage surcharge is applicable.
Do I need insurance to rent a car?
Prior to renting, a renter is required to provide proof of transferrable auto collision, comprehensive and liability coverage for the vehicle they are renting. This can sometimes be called “Coverage for non-owned automobiles” in your personal insurance policy or CDW in your credit card benefits guide.
As we do not offer insurance for purchase, it is the renter's responsibility to verify and present suitable coverage for their rental.
Does it cost extra for extra drivers?
There is an additional charge of $10 per day and per driver for additional drivers due to the added liability exposure.
It is the renters responbility that additional drivers have sufficient insurance coverage to drive a rental vehicle.
Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
Renters are required to provide a Visa or Mastercard in their name, when renting a vehicle. A pre-authorization for the rental and incidentals will be performed at the time of rental.
For renters over the age of 25 without a suitable credit card, arrangements may be made using a security deposit. Please contact a staff member for details.
What's your cancellation policy?
A non-refundable charge equivalent to a one day rental will be applied to your credit card at the time of booking.
Although we greatly appreciate notice in advance, we understand travel plans can change quickly. Aside from the single day
non-refundable charge, you are not responsible for any subsequent charges in the case of a cancellation.
Do you offer one-way rentals?
As we are an independent rental company without partner locations, we do not offer one-way rentals.
Can we return the vehicle to another location other than your office?
For liability reasons, all rentals must be returned to our location at 1 MacNeill Ave Charlottetown, PE.
Can we return the vehicle after-hours or on holidays?
Yes vehicles can be returned to our location outside our operational hours. Vehicles are to be returned to the front of the building when permitted, locked, and key placed inside the designated key drop-box.
